THE RUBBER CHICKEN
STRING BAND
Mark McDonald - Banjo       Mary Larsen - Bass
Lynn Furnis - Mandolin       Kathi Scott - Guitar

A fondness for rubber chickens is what first brought this group together.  Mary Larson and Mark McDonald moved to Reno from Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1998.  Their first NNBA social function was a potluck jam session given by Lynn Furnis.  They knew they had found the right place when they saw the two rubber chickens hanging on the gate in Lynn's yard.  Next, Lynn noticed the well-worn miniature rubber chicken key chain that Mary carried in her purse.  She coveted that lovely fowl.  Soon, Kathi Bergemann had acquired new rubber chicken key chains, and got one for Lynn and for herself.

Well, there was no turning back after that!! We all had stringed instruments, we all liked to sing and play music and admire rubber chickens, and, bingo, we started our own bank -- The Rubber Chicken String Band.  We play mostly bluegrass, old timey, and folk music, and will play at private or public parties, weddings, birthdays, fund-raisers, craft fairs, bars, library concerts, outhouse races, and you name it.
